Clinton cites Kennedy assassination in primaries

In a startling article, Clinton has cited the assassination of JFK's younger brother Robert, in 1968, in relation to why she is not backing out of the race just yet. Perhaps this is a signal of some sort to someone out there, but the media will definitely not let this story go for a while.

As sad as it is, I found this video on YouTube in regards to his assassination, something I knew little about.

What's in John McCain's medical records?

He'll be releasing everything about his repeated cancer surgeries. But he won't release his psychiatric records, which hold clues to the effect of his Vietnam captivity, which included two years in solitary confinement. It is well documented that the sort of treatment McCain endured can harm the mind.

Small highlight from the article...

Presidential candidate John McCain has survived three plane crashes, four melanomas, and more than five years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, enduring torture and solitary confinement. There would be questions about his health and his fitness for the office he seeks even if he weren't turning 72 in August, and even if he weren't likely to be running against a man 25 years his junior.

On Friday, after repeated pledges to do so going back more than a year, the McCain campaign is set to release new information about the Arizona Republican's health history. The release, according to the campaign, will cover the year 2000 forward, a period when McCain had three of his four skin cancers removed, as well as lymph nodes and part of a salivary gland. It will not, however, include McCain's psychiatric records, which McCain allowed a select group of reporters to examine in 1999 but have never been released to the public. The new information is unlikely to quash recurring questions about McCain's age, his bouts with cancer, or how his experience in Vietnam may have affected his mind.

Obama to stand in for Kennedy at Wesleyan commencement

In a recent change of events, due to Senator Kennedy's recent condition, it will be none other than Obama filling in for him at a commencement ceremony at Wesleyan, a school his stepdaughter goes to. I wonder how the media will react on site for this one.

The Nightmare Ticket Is Dead

In what appears to leave Clinton with no hope as she continues on, her dream of at least becoming the VP has all been but wiped out. When asking Obama directly if she could serve as his VP, he simply said "No", and that he will be finding his own candidate.

In 2000, McCain admits he’d be too old to run in 2008

From the article, "As McCain gets ready to release his medical records in a very limited fashion today, I’ve come across a clip back on 08/01/2000. He’s being interviewed by Jim Lehrer on News Hour and admits that he’d be too old to run in 2008."

Unapologetic Hagee Says Hitler Statement Was "Mischaracterized"

In regards to the recent Huffington Post story on Hagee, and his Hitler comment, he has recently come out to address it.

His own words,
"To assert that I in any way condone the Holocaust or that monster Adolf Hitler is the biggest and ugliest of lies," Hagee wrote. "I have always condemned the horrors of the Holocaust in the strongest of terms. But even more importantly, my abhorrence of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism has never stopped with mere words."

McCain Backer Hagee Said Hitler Was Fulfilling God's Will (AUDIO)

In a story similar to that of Rev. Wright and Obama, now McCain's pastor John Hagee has caused controversy, with his take saying that Hitler was fulfilling God's will, and that Jews are meant to be hunted. With McCain endorsed by him, this is almost no different than the Rev. Wright/Obama issue, who he has relationships with for over 20 years.

McCain's YouTube Problem Just Became a Nightmare

In the recent The Real McCain 2, as shown below, John McCain finally comes off as the man he is. An ill informed, indecisive, senior statesman, who has no place running this country. This video has now received over 1 million views, and is far from things the MSM is reporting.

Record Obama Crowd, the Size of a City

I find this story amazing, as Obama was recently able to gather 75,000 supporters in the small state of Oregon for one of his recent speeches. I wonder if they are all zealous supporters, or some that may have drank a bit too much of the Obama cool aid. Regardless, it makes for a great story.

The Role of SNL and Mockery

I decided that I would make one post highlighting the ways SNL has mocked both Obama, and Clinton recently. They continue to make fun of the fact that Obama has little experience, while Clinton just wont get the hint to quit, and end her campaign. I can only say so much, check the video out to fully see what I mean.

"There can only be one"

Even John McCain gets into the action...

Can Clinton Go Back to the Senate?

This is a very interesting take on Clinton's success or lack there of. In the article, it asks the question of whether or not Clinton can even continue as a senator, and may actually retire. However, I feel that based on Obama's performance should he become President, she may try to run in 2012, and that's the only reason shes still in the race. Regardless, things are sure heating up...

McCain Lies, Says Reagan Didn't Negotiate With Iran

Once again, McCain has demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge about foreign policy and American history. First he got confused over Sunnis and Shiites, now this. McCain seems to be forgetting something kind of important that happened during the Reagan administration. It's called the Iran-Contra Scandal. Even in a recent history class I took last quarter, did we all learn about this, and how things played out. Yet this 76 year old is somehow forgetful?

He says,
“Yes, there have been appeasers in the past, and the president is exactly right, and one of them is Neville Chamberlain,'’ Mr. McCain told reporters on his campaign bus after a speech in Columbus, Ohio. “I believe that it’s not an accident that our hostages came home from Iran when President Reagan was president of the United States. He didn’t sit down in a negotiation with the religious extremists in Iran, he made it very clear that those hostages were coming home."

Edwards endorses Obama, praises Clinton

Finally Edwards has come forward to support Obama, and his campaign. He realizes that Democrats across the country have spoken, and Barrack is there man. This is a huge gain for the Obama campaign, and it will be interesting to see how the MSM react to this news.

"There is one man who knows and understands that this is a time for bold leadership. There is one man that knows how to create the change, the lasting change, that you have to build from the ground up," Edwards said. "There is one man who knows in his heart there is time to create one America, not two ... and that man is Barack Obama."

Clinton: It'd be 'terrible mistake' to pick McCain over Obama

I found this article interesting, as Clinton is basically saying that it would be a huge mistake to pick McCain over Obama, highlighting the fact that she actually does support Obama, and not McCain, someone who she has appeared close to in recent years. She basically sends this message to her supporters who might feel that Obama is not their man, and if she doesnt win the nomination, vote for McCain to spite Obama.

"Anybody who has ever voted for me or voted for Barack has much more in common in terms of what we want to see happen in our country and in the world with the other than they do with John McCain," Clinton said on CNN's "The Situation Room."

Clinton Team Acknowledges $20 Million Debt

In a class where we recently discussed Campaign Finance, as well as the degree to which candidates use their websites for personal contributions, I found this article interesting. Here is Clinton with $20 million in debt, much of that financed by her own pocket, and she is STILL continuing on. What will it take for her to bow out? Oh well, its her problem, right...?

Clinton aides continued to insist that she will remain in the race even while confirming that she is $20 million in debt. "The voters are going to decide this," senior adviser Howard Wolfson said on "Fox News Sunday," acknowledging the $20 million figure. "There is no reason for her not to continue this process." Wolfson said he has seen "no evidence of her interest" in pursuing the second-place spot on the Democratic ticket, contrary to rumors that she is staying in the race to leverage a bid for the vice presidential nomination.

McCain’s Economic Policies Like A Third Bush Term? YES!

I've wanted to post something like this up for a while, ever since I saw his answer during one of the debates. McCain + economic policies = AMERICA's LOSS. The current Bush administration has literally put this country into one of the worst economic times in a while, through multiple wars and it's foreign policy, not to mention the role of Federal Reserve lately, and massive inflation. Will John McCain be able to come in, and radically change this, no. Does this video prove that, more or less, yes.

McCain in 1999: Bush "As Dumb as a Stump"

I found this interesting, as there is speculation at the Huffington Post, on whether or not McCain voted for Bush in 2000. Arianna Huffington says No, but in fact he might have, only he and possibly his wife know for sure. The author in this article, had a fond memory of a vacation she took with the McCain's in '99, and this occurred. I strongly agree with her conclusion.

Always the goods hosts, the McCains also invited us to spend the day with them, including for barbeque, a favorite of John's. And as McCain flipped burgers, I could not help but ask his views about then candidate George W. Bush.

"He's as dumb as a stump," McCain offered. We then went on to discuss other matters (including Vietnam) but that quote remains seared in my memory.

So how the McCains actually voted that November is between them and their voting booth. But if John McCain did end up voting for Bush, then by his own admission he voted for a stump.

Bill Clinton's Angry Confrontation With Voter

While campaigning in Fayetteville, W.Va., Bill Clinton argued with an audience member over claims made by Hillary Clinton that she improved health care during his administration.

Californians Would Switch Clinton Vote For Obama

As a fellow California resident, and one who is registered to vote, this is rather interesting to me. Although I voted for Ron Paul, its funny to see that many of those who voted for Clinton would now vote for Obama. Even more hillarious is the fact that if many do feel this way, and yet Clinton is raving about how she won all the big states, then its almost all in vain.
While voters in the California Democratic Presidential Primary backed Clinton by a 10-point margin, a new SurveyUSA poll shows that if given the chance to vote again, Californians would choose Barack Obama by a 6-point margin, 49%-43%.

Hillary Is Done, Say Media Overlords

Hey, look, Matt Drudge did something nice for the entire country: He ended the Democratic primary, even though it was supposed to continue until eternity. See the picture and headline at left, which ran atop Drudge Report tonight. Drudge's link went to a video of Meet The Press anchor Tim Russert calmly explaining to America that "we now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be" and that Hillary Clinton is probably about to quit (she cancelled her TV appearances and everything!). Then David Gergen, the Bill Clinton aide turned talking head, said on CNN the election is over, partly because Chelsea looked sad during Hillary's last speech. "You could see the anguish on her face," Gergen said. "I think the Clinton people know the game is almost up." Remaining voters, politely thank your media overlords for deciding the election on your behalf. Clips of Russert and Gergen, and a bigger pic of the Drudge page, after the jump.

Obama wins, as declared earlier by the blogger of all bloggers, Matt Drudge. +1 for New Media. Very interesting in the way this was reported.

Exit Polls: Limbaugh Effect Seems To Rear Its Head

Once again, the role of media in so far as transforming elections, whether that includes delaying the inevitable, has occurred again. This time its Rush Limbaugh, who has caused "Chaos".
The loud-mouthed radio talk show host has been encouraging Republicans to vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton to continue the "chaos" in the Democratic race. And a sampling of some key exit poll information suggests he may, to a certain extent, be having an effect.

Thirty-six percent of primary voters said that Clinton does not share their values. And yet, among that total, one out of every five (20 percent) nevertheless voted for her in the Indiana election. Moreover, of the 10 percent of Hoosiers who said "neither candidate" shared their values, 75 percent cast their ballots for Clinton.

Economists Criticize Clinton, McCain Gas-Tax Plans

I found this Bloomberg article interesting, while it also coincided with Clinton saying economists aren't really needed for advice. Obama seems to be the only one dismissing this idea as absurd, while both Clinton and McCain proceed on.
More than 200 economists, including four Nobel prize winners, signed a letter rejecting proposals by presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John McCain to offer a summertime gas-tax holiday.

Obama's Reverend Wright Press Conference

It seems like this Rev. Wright issue will just not die. Now, Obama is denouncing him once more, in this latest press conference.
I'm outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle that we saw yesterday. I have been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ since 1992 and have known Jeremiah Wright for almost 22 years. The person I saw yesterday was not the person I met 20 years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but they also give comfort to those that prey on hate and I believe they do not accurately portray the perspective of the black church. They certainly do not accurately portray my values and beliefs. If Reverend Wright thinks that is political posturing on my part, he does not know me very well.

I have already denounced those comments that have come out of these previous sermons. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in my speech in Philadelphia, explaining that he has done enormous good in the church, has built a wonderful conversation. They are a wonderful people and what attracted me has always been the ministries reach beyond church walls. But when he states and then amplifies such ridiculous propositions, that the U.S. government is involved in AIDS, when he suggests that Louis Farrakhan represents one of the greatest voices of the 21st century, when he equates the United States' wartime effort with terrorism, then there are no excuses. They offend me, they rightfully offend all Americans, and they should be denounced. That is what I am doing very clearly and unequivocally here today.

I have spent my entire adult life trying to bridge the gap between different kinds of people. That's in my DNA, trying to promote mutual understanding to insist that we all share common hopes and common dreams as Americans and as human beings. That's who I am, that's what I believe, and that's what this campaign has been about.

Obama Look Too Good for President? Too Elitist?

I found this video also to be very interesting, as a reporter asks him if he feels that looking too much like a GQ model, will push some voters away from him. He later goes on to candidly discuss his bowling score, which happened a couple weeks before, and then talk about his background, and how the other two candidates are far more likely to be considered elitist, than he. It's just a pity to show that these are issues that voters care about, elitism, and how one looks, rather then real life issues and policies of a candidate.

From the description
Recently a local news reporter asked Barack Obama whether he was too good-looking to relate to working class people. She stated how some think that Obama looks like a male cover model from the magazine "GQ". Hmm... I don't think they ever thought this would be the problem.

He goes on to address comments that he is an "elitist", which is the most bizarre thing to pin on someone who was raised by a single mother and his grandparents, who was a community activist and civil rights lawyer on Chicago's poor South side, and who has just finished paying off his students loans after working to get into Harvard.

The Low Road to Victory

I found this article to be really something, as its talking about Clinton pulling out all the stops, to win Pennsylvania. In the end, she did, but she did so by taking the so-called "low road". A highlight of the article is below, and I have embedded this so called ad for you to view.
On the eve of this crucial primary, Mrs. Clinton became the first Democratic candidate to wave the bloody shirt of 9/11. A Clinton television ad — torn right from Karl Rove’s playbook — evoked the 1929 stock market crash, Pearl Harbor, the Cuban missile crisis, the cold war and the 9/11 attacks, complete with video of Osama bin Laden. “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,” the narrator intoned.

The Bruising Will Go On for the Party, Too

The race goes on!
Clinton has beat Obama in the Penn Primary, and has vowed to continue on, in her hunt for the White House. When will she back out? Who knows...
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton defeated Senator Barack Obama in Pennsylvania on Tuesday by enough of a margin to continue a battle that Democrats increasingly believe is undermining their effort to unify the party and prepare for the general election against Senator John McCain.

Despite a huge investment of time and money by Mr. Obama and pressure on Mrs. Clinton by the party establishment to consider folding her campaign, she won her third big state in a row. Mrs. Clinton showed again that she is a tenacious campaigner with an ability to connect with the blue-collar voters Mr. Obama has found elusive and who could be critical to a Democratic victory in November.

Mrs. Clinton’s margin was probably not sufficient to fundamentally alter the dynamics of the race, which continued to favor an eventual victory for Mr. Obama. But it made clear that the contest will go on at least a few weeks, if not more. And it served to underline the concerns about Mr. Obama’s strengths as a general election candidate. Exit polls again highlighted the racial, economic, sex and values divisions within the party.

Chris Matthews: The Media Created "Delusion" That Hillary Can Win

Here MSNBC's Chris Matthews discusses how Obama will be the nominee, and to think otherwise is merely a delusion. To some voters in Penn, 4 out of 5, genuinely thought Clinton still had a chance, so this story is rather interesting. More ironic, is that here is the media, saying that the media created this delusion. Though some would say MSNBC is a liberal network, with guys like Keith Olberman and what not, one does not know the full extent it has played in stringing Clinton along all this time.

I found this story to be quite funny actually, as I somewhat believe it to be true. Obama, to many, seems to be very genuine, and a savior of sorts. However, to others, it appears he is all hype with little experience. Watch the video.
Appearing with a group of college students on Fox News over yesterday, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said that a lot of young people "drink the Kool-Aid" of Obama's speeches, prompting the reporter to say "you're suggesting that they're being suckered."

McCain voted against MLK Day at almost 50 years of age!

From the article,
Check out John McCain trying to wiggle his way out of the fact that he voted against MLK day back in 1983. John McCain was born in 1936. He was how old, how old—hmmmm—let’s see…maybe 47 years old I think. He was almost 50 years old and he voted against MLK day! You see he needed just a few more years to figure out the impact MLK had on our society. He certainly can’t say in this statement that he was young and inexperienced. Nope, he has to give the impression that he was young and inexperienced since it was his first year in Congress—so he studied and learned and studied and learned until it dawned on him. And then he suddenly realized he made a big mistake.

I think this is very interesting, since he now not only needs to put this fact behind him, but is trying to appear Pro-African American as he travels through the Ghettos and what not.

Barack Obama is Better at Basketball than Bowling

I found this video to be very interesting as its showing basketball as such an important part of a black Presidents future. It's almost as if, if he couldn't play basketball, he doesn't deserve to be President, and that his whole future is based on whether or not he can make a three.

As the article says,
First off let’s all agree that the bowling thing did not turn out well for Mr. Obama. This basketball story could easily make up for it. Obama blocks a guys shot in the video, runs the floor, and has a nice assist. Bryant Gumble is going to have him on HBO’s Real Sports. They are going to talk about how basketball changed and shaped his life.

Obama joins Clinton, urges President Bush to boycott Olympic opening ceremonies in Beijing

In sports related news, Obama has joined Clinton in denouncing the Olympic ceremonies in China, and has urged Bush to do the same. This is important as it shows future presidential candidates trying to influence the current president into making decisions which show TRUE leadership, and American ideals.

From the article,
Clinton had commended British Prime Minister Gordon Brown for announcing that he will skip the August ceremonies in China’s capital, and called on Obama and likely Republican presidential nominee John McCain to join her in urging Bush to do the same.

Obama did later in the day; his campaign issued a statement in which, for the first time, he urged Bush to boycott the festivities.

Activists are urging world leaders to stay away from the ceremonies to underscore concerns about China’s human rights record, its handling of recent unrest in Tibet and its relationship with Sudan.

Obama said a boycott “should be firmly on the table,” but that a decision should be made closer to the Games.

“If the Chinese do not take steps to help stop the genocide in Darfur and to respect the dignity, security and human rights of the Tibetan people, then the president should boycott the opening ceremonies,” he said. “As I have communicated in public and to the president, it is past time for China to respect the human rights of the Tibetan people, to allow foreign journalists and diplomats access to the region, and to engage the Dalai Lama in meaningful talks about the future of Tibet.”

McCain Won't Rule Out Pre-Emptive War

Here's the John McCain we all love right...? The war mongering, Bush twin, who even at his old age of 76, still has a desire to bring death upon other nations. Not only that, but pre-emptive war, war without negotiation. War without diplomacy. George W Bush style war.

Take from the Huffington Post,
The likely Republican presidential nominee was asked Wednesday at a town-hall style meeting if he would reject "the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive war," a reference to Bush's decision to invade Iraq without it having attacked the United States.

"I don't think you could make a blanket statement about pre-emptive war, because obviously, it depends on the threat that the United States of America faces," McCain told his audience at Bridgewater Associates Inc., a global investment firm.

"If someone is about to launch a weapon that would devastate America, or have the capability to do so, obviously, you would have to act immediately in defense of this nation's national security interests."
